Coronavirus Covid-19 Rate of Testing and Dr Shafiq Sit

Dr Shafiq Sit G overnments are still failing badly in dealing wi th the new realities of Covid-19. When Einstein came out with his now famous E=mc ² , many believed then and now that he wanted to show among other things the exponentiality and quantum of energy as a function of the speed of light. So what if the nut to crack now is that c is the rate of testing of people infected by the Covid-19 virus?  As I highlighted in my last post, the finger pointing against China is now showing the opposite, that on the contrary China has managed to get a bit of a foothold in the battle against this invisible enemy, which for whatever reason is blind too. Blind because it does not differentiate its victims, claiming even the Prime Minister of Great Britain and everyone's favorite actor Tom Hanks. Many who have done good and volunteered in this fight such as doctors and nurses have also become casualties and fatalities of the virus's blindness to goodness. Many died and more wil

Coronavirus COVID-19 Cure and Dr Shafiq Sit

Dr Shafiq Sit Some say the Coronavirus is God-sent to compel the world to come together in a collective defence to save mankind. Too much apathy towards global warming etc with our disgraceful meek response in terms of just no single use plastics. That’s definitely not enough to save us. Even the turtles are laughing. We are forced now to face reality of an increasingly crowded planet with scarce resources fast depleting, and now for some reason finger pointing towards the Chinese is trending. As if that’s going to save the world. As if that’s going to find a cure. Maybe for COVID-19 in 6 months of this posting. What about the next virus we will stumble on to? What if this next one emanates from the U.S. or heaven forbids even maybe Jerusalem? Then how? Look to the U.S. for global leadership? Not going to happen under Trump. He is no Mr Global. Maybe he can tweet us to boredom, and like a lullaby we sleep forever. Maybe less painful than to be woken up at 3 am to read his bulls

Asia in the aftermath

Dr Shafiq Sit In the first part of his report, DR SHAFIQ SIT revisits the roots of the changing strategic landscape in Europe back in the 1970s and 1980s. He now reconsiders the implications of those tumultuous developments then in the wake of the neo-nationalistic mood of the early 21st century such as Brexit, and whether this signals the weakening of the EURO bloc and what it would mean for the Asia-Pacific countries. Figuratively speaking, just as Europe traversed the difficult part from Yalta in 1945, Asia has found the road from Bandung in 1955 till today equally long and winding. Back then,  with the dismantling of the Cold War in Europe, Asian states had to adapt and realign their foreign policy accordingly. For example, Jakarta’s shift towards normalisation of relations with Beijing and Moscow was only symptomatic of more foreign policy readjustments to find its place in the sun. In fact, if one were to examine closely the sequence of events, one can be sure that s
